NAPS CRIME UNIT INVESTIGATING CONSTANCE LAKE HOUSE FIRE

(Constance Lake, ON) – The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s Crime Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding a house fire in Constance Lake First Nation.

Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service working out of the Constance Lake First Nation detachment received a call for service regarding a residential structural fire in the community just after 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3.

When police arrived on scene in the zero-to-100 block of Machitch Crescent, fire and smoke were visible from the home.

Members of the OPP Emergency Response Team, Hearst Fire Department, and paramedics were also dispatched to the scene.

One adult male suffered injuries as a result of the fire. The exact extent of those injuries is not known at this time, but are not believed to be life-threatening.

The NAPS Crime Unit is now involved in the ongoing investigation.
