TWO ARRESTED, CRACK COCAINE SEIZED FOLLOWING SEARCH
(Webequie First Nation, ON) – Police arrested two suspects and seized a quantity of crack cocaine following the search of a Webequie First Nation home in July.
Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s Intelligence Unit, with support from the NAPS K9 Unit, Provincial Guns and Gangs Task Force, and Webequie detachment frontline officers, executed a search warrant at a residential address within the community on Friday, July 24.
The search warrant was obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity within Webequie First Nation.
Following their search, police located and seized a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
Caitlin Erika WABASSE, 36, of Webequie First Nation, is charged with:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Frances WABASSE, 33, of Webequie First Nation, is charged with:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
Both have since been released from custody with conditions and a future court date.
The investigation remains ongoing.
