MALE POINTING FIREARM AT PERSON NEAR SCHOOL ARRESTED
(AROLAND, ON) – A male suspect accused of pointing a firearm at a female in Aroland First Nation was arrested and charged Thursday.
Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service working out of the Aroland First Nation detachment received a call for service in the afternoon hours of Thursday, July 31 regarding an incident possibly involving a firearm within the community.
When police arrived on scene, they learned a male suspect had pointed a firearm at another individual near the community’s school.
As a result of continued investigation, the male was identified and later located that same afternoon at their home nearby.
The male suspect was taken into custody without further incident, and police located and seized an AR-15 style replica firearm.
Brady Isaiah Gagnon, 28, of Aroland First Nation, is charged with:
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Pointing a Firearm
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
He appeared in bail court on Friday, Aug. 1, and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
