TWO ARRESTED, COCAINE AND METHAMPHETAMINE SEIZED IN MARTEN FALLS FIRST NATION
(Marten Falls First Nation) – Police seized more than $100,000 worth of drugs following the search of a Marten Falls First Nation home Tuesday.
Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s Intelligence Unit, with support from the NAPS K9 Unit and frontline officers, executed a search warrant at a residential address in the zero-to-100 block of Lagoon Road in Marten Falls First Nation on Tuesday, June 2.
The warrant was obtained as a result of an investigation into drug trafficking activity within the community.
While police were en route to the home, they located and arrested a suspect without incident. A second suspect was located and arrested after police arrived on scene.
Following their search, police located and seized a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, psilocybin, buprenorphine, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
The estimated street value of drugs seized totals more than $105,000 CAD.
A 32-year-old female from Marten Falls First Nation, is charged with:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Buprenorphine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Dylan BILODEAU, 33, of Geraldton, Ont., is charged with:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Buprenorphine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
The female accused has since been released with conditions and a future court date. names of accused are withheld until charges against them have been sworn in before the courts.
BILODEAU appeared for a bail hearing on Wednesday, June 3, and was released with conditions and a future appearance date. BILODEAU’s release conditions include not attending the community of Marten Falls First Nation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
