(Keewaywin First Nation) – Police arrested three suspects, and seized cocaine and cash with a combined value of more than $233,000, following a recent search of a home in Keewaywin First Nation.

Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s Intelligence Unit, with assistance from members of the NAPS Emergency Response Team, executed as search warrant at a residential address in the community of Keewaywin First Nation on Monday, Feb. 23.

The search warrant was obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking within the community.

When police entered the home, they located and arrested three suspects without incident.

During their search, police located and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, a rifle, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

Cash seized totalled more than $32,000 CAD, and the estimated street value of drugs seized exceeded $211,000 CAD.

Darrell Joshua EASTMAN-MOORE, 21, of Winnipeg, is charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obrtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
• Failure to Comply with Release Order

Jackie HARPER, 39, of Keewaywin First Nation, is charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obrtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Careless Storage of a Firearm

Rodney HARPER, 39, of Keewaywin First Nation, is charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obrtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Careless Storage of a Firearm

All three appeared for a bail hearing on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Jackie HARPER and Rodney HARPER were released with conditions and a future court date. EASTMAN-MOORE was remanded into custody with a future court date.
