SUSPECT IN AGGRAVATED ASSAULT INVESTIGATION ARRESTED

(Moose Factory First Nation) – Two suspects connected to an aggravated assault investigation in Moose Factory have been arrested and charged.

Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service working from the Moose Factory First Nation detachment received a call for service on Monday, Feb. 9, regarding an assault that had recently taken place at a Pakeishimon Street home.

Police determined that an altercation took place inside the home involving three males and one female. During the incident, the female was assaulted. The confrontation continued among the three males.

A knife was used during the incident, resulting in injuries to two of the males. The injured males attended the hospital for further evaluation and treatment of their injures. They were later released.

Members of the NAPS Crime Unit have become involved in the continued investigation. Through that investigation, police identified two suspects. Two male suspects have since been arrested without incident.

Wayne HESTER, 26, of Moose Factory, is charged with:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon

He appeared for a bail hearing on Wednesday, Feb. 11, and was released with conditions and a future court appearance date.

Mark Kien Douglas ISAAC, 24, of Moose Factory First Nation, is charged with:

  • Assault
  • Aggravated Assault

He appeared for a bail hearing on Thursday, Feb. 12, and was remanded into custody with a future court appearance date.

The investigation remains ongoing.
