COCAINE, FIREARMS SEIZED FOLLOWING SEARCH
(Nibinamik First Nation) – Police arrested two suspects and laid charges relating to drug trafficking and firearms possession following the search of a Nibinamik First Nation home Thursday.
Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s Intelligence Unit, with assistance from members of the NAPS Criminal Investigations Unit, and frontline NAPS officers working out of the Nibinamik First Nation detachment, executed a search warrant at a residential address within the community on Thursday, Jan. 8.
When police entered the home, they located and arrested two suspects without incident.
A search of the home led to the seizure of suspected crack cocaine, cash, two firearms, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
A 21-year-old female from Nibinamik First Nation is charged with:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
A 48-year-old male from Nibinamik First Nation is charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 2
Booh accused have since been released from custody with conditions and a future appearance date.
