OXYCODONE, METHAMPHETAMINE SEIZED AMID SEARCH IN FORT ALBANY
(Fort Albany First Nation) – Police seized Oxycodone and Methamphetamine, and arrested four suspects, following the search of a Fort Albany First Nation home Wednesday.
Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s Intelligence Unit, with assistance from the NAPS Emergency Response Team and K9 Unit, executed a search warrant at a residential address on Main Street in Fort Albany First Nation on Wednesday, Dec. 17.
The warrant was obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity within the community.
When police entered the home they located four suspects, who were arrested at the scene without incident. Police also located and seized a quantity of suspected Methamphetamine, Oxycodone tablets, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
A 45-year-old male from Fort Albany First Nation is charged with:
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
A 52-year-old female from Fort Albany First Nation is charged with:
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
A 45-year-old female from Fort Albany First Nation is charged with:
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
A 24-year-old male from Fort Albany First Nation is charged with:
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
All accused have since been released from custody with conditions and future court appearance dates.
The names of accused are withheld until the charges against them have been formally sworn in before the courts.
