POLICE SEIZE $103K WORTH OF FENTANYL, COCAINE, CRYSTAL METH
(Fort Albany, ON) – Police arrested two suspects, and seized a quantity of Fentanyl, Cocaine, and Crystal Methamphetamine following the search of a Fort Albany First Nation home Tuesday.
Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service Intelligence Unit, with assistance from the NAPS Emergency Response Team, K9 Unit, and frontline members working out of the Fort Albany First Nation detachment, executed a search warrant at a residential address in Fort Albany First Nation in the morning hours of Tuesday, Dec. 9.
The warrant was obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity within the community of Fort Albany First Nation.
During the search, two suspects were located and arrested without incident. Police located and seized a quantity of suspected Fentanyl, Crystal Methamphetamine, Oxycodone tablets, Hydromorphone tablets, Cocaine, and more than $25,000 in cash.
The estimated street value of drugs seized totals $103,000.
Tashina Sarah Lottie KNAPAYSWEET, 37, of Fort Albany First Nation, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,0000
Gabriel SUTHERLAND, 46, of Fort Albany First Nation, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,0000
Both appeared for a bail hearing on Wednesday, Dec. 10 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
