FENTANYL, METHAMPHETAMINE SEIZED FOLLOWING SEARCH IN ATTAWAPISKAT
(Attawapiskat, ON) – Police arrested two suspects Tuesday, and seized fentanyl and methamphetamine, following a drug trafficking investigation in Attawapiskat First Nation.
Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s Intelligence Unit and Emergency Response Team executed a pair of search warrants at residential addresses within Attawapiskat First Nation in the evening hours of Tuesday, Oct. 7.
The search warrants were obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity within the community.
Following these searches, police located and arrested two suspects without incident.
Police also seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
The estimated street value of drugs seized totals $33,000 CAD.
A 30-year-old female from Attawapiskat First Nation is charged with:
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
A 34-year-old male from Attawapiskat First Nation is charged with:
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
Both accused have since been released with conditions and future court appearance date of Dec. 4, 2025. The names of accused are not released until charges against them have been sworn in before the courts.
The investigation remains ongoing.
