STABBING SUSPECT ARRESTED IN NIBINAMIK

(Nibinamik, ON) – Police arrested a male suspect connected to a weekend assault investigation in Nibinamik First Nation.

Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service working out of the Summer Beaver First Nation detachment received a call for service on Monday, Sept. 1, regarding an assault that had recently taken place.

Police learned an adult male had been transported to the community nursing station for evaluation and treatment of injuries consistent with a stabbing incident.

Further investigation revealed the victim had an apparent argument with an adult male suspect in the evening hours of that day. The verbal argument became physical, at which point the victim was allegedly assaulted by the suspect.

Police located and arrested a male suspect without incident on Monday, Sept. 1.

Delaney Vernon Boyd OSKINEEGISH, 31, of Nibinamik First Nation, is charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon

The accused appeared for a bail hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 2 and was released with conditions and a future appearance date.
