AGGRAVATED ASSAULT SUSPECTS ARRESTED, CHARGED
(Moose Factory, ON) – Police arrested two suspects with aggravated assault over the weekend following an incident that sent a 16-year-old to the hospital in Ottawa with serious injuries
Nishnawbe Aski Police Service members working out of the Moose Factory First Nation detachment received a call for service regarding a weapons incident in the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 23, in the community.
Police learned a 16-year-old male victim had been attacked with a blunt object and sustained serious injuries as a result. The victim was transported to a hospital in Ottawa for further evaluation and treatment of their injuries.
The exact extent of those injuries is not known at this time but are not believed to be life-threatening.
Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s Crime Unit are now involved in the continued investigation.
As a result of continued investigation two adult suspects were identified.
Both suspects were located and taken into custody on Sunday, Aug. 24.
Corbin HARDISTY, 19, of Moose Factory First Nation, is charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Possession of Imitation Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Wendell Jeffrey HARDISTY, 53, of Moose Factory First Nation, is charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Possession of Imitation Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Both appeared for a bail hearing on Monday, Aug. 25 and were released with conditions and future court appearance dates.
