SUSPECT ARRESTED AMID CHILD EXPLOITATION INVESTIGATION

(Kashechewan, ON) – Police arrested a suspect Wednesday in connection with an ongoing investigation into possession of child pornography and luring.

Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service working out of the Kashechewan First Nation detachment learned of a complaint on Aug. 9 about a suspect possibly involved in the luring of minors and possession of child exploitation materials.

Police began an investigation into the complaints. The ongoing investigation included members of the NAPS Crime Unit.

As a result of continued investigation, an adult male suspect was identified.

In the morning hours of Wednesday, Aug. 20, police executed a search warrant at a residential address in the zero-to-100 block of Amisk Street in Kashechewan First Nation.

During the search, a male suspect was located and arrested without incident.

A number of electronic devices were seized following the search.

Quentin Darwin WYNNE, 28, of Kashechewan First Nation, is charged with:

  • Possession of Child Pornography
  • Luring a Person Under 16 by Means of Telecommunication

The accused appeared for a bail hearing on Wednesday, Aug. 20 and was released with conditions and a future appearance date.

The investigation remains ongoing.
