METHAMPHETAMINE, OXYCODONE SEIZED AMID SEARCH
(Attawapiskat, ON) – Three people have been arrested following the seizure of oxycodone and methamphetamine from an Attawapiskat home Tuesday.
Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s Intelligence Unit and Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at a residential address within the community of Attawapiskat First Nation in the morning hours of Tuesday, July 22.
The warrant was obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking within Attawapiskat First Nation.
When police entered the home, they located and arrested three suspects without incident.
Following their search, police located and seized a quantity of suspected oxycodone pills, methamphetamine tablets, crystal methamphetamine, and cash.
The estimated street value of drugs seized totals nearly $16,000 CAD.
A 31-year-old male from Attawapiskat First Nation, is charged with:
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
A 32-year-old female from Attawapiskat First Nation, is charged with:
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Failure to Comply with Release Order
A 25-year-old female from Attawapiskat First Nation, is charged with:
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2
- Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
All three have since been released from custody with conditions and a future appearance date.
The identities of accused individuals are only released after the charges against them have been sworn before the courts.
