NAPS DRUG UNIT CHARGES FOUR IN CONSTANCE LAKE FIRST NATION Print

(Constance Lake, ON) On October 19, 2017, the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) Drug Unit, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police South Porcupine Crime Unit and the NAPS Constance Lake Detachment members, executed a Controlled Drugs & Substances Act (CDSA) Search Warrant at a residence located on the Constance Lake First Nation.

As a result of the investigation, police seized methamphetamine, one firearm, and drug paraphernalia and one hundred ninety ($190.00) dollars in Canadian currency. The street value of the seized drugs totaled nine hundred thirty ($930.00) dollars.

Sixty (60) year old Alfred SOLOMON, of Constance Lake First Nation has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking; Careless Storage of a Firearm; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm; Knowledge of an Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm; and, for a previous CDSA charge laid in December 2016, Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

Forty-nine (49) year old Jocelyn PEUNISH of Constance Lake First Nation has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking; and, for a previous CDSA charge laid in December 2016, Fail to Comply with Undertaking

Thirty-four (34) year old Natasha SOLOMON of Constance Lake First Nation has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime.

Thirty-two (32) year old Martin BERNIER of Constance Lake First Nation has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime.

Alfred SOLOMON was held for bail court scheduled for October 20, 2017 and was remanded into custody for another court date on October 23, 2017. Jocelyn PEUNISH was held for bail court scheduled for October 20, 2017 and has been released for court on November 8, 2017 in Hearst, Ontario. Natasha SOLOMON and Martin BERNIER have each been released on conditions and will next appear in court on December 20, 2017 in Hearst, Ontario.

Constance Lake First Nation is located approximately 290 km west of Timmins, Ontario.
