(Fort Severn, ON) On August 2, 2016, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a lone officer posted at the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS) Fort Severn Detachment reported shots fired in the vicinity of the Fort Severn Hotel, where the officer resides.

No arrests have been made thus far and no injuries have been reported as this matter remains under investigation.

The community members’ safety continues to be our primary concern although the community is no longer required to remain indoors. The NAPS Emergency Response Team remains on site along with the members of the NAPS North West Region Crime Unit.

People are urged to report any and all information to police at the NAPS Fort Severn Detachment (807) 478-2571, or by reporting anonymously through your local CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
