NAPS CHARGES TWO MORE IN ANOTHER ATTAWAPISKAT INVESTIGATION Print

(Attawapiskat, ON) On September 13, 2012, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit, Attawapiskat Detachment, Guns and Gangs, and Emergency Response Team executed a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act in the community of Attawapiskat First Nation for the third time this year.

Police seized approximately twenty-six thousand ($26,000.00) dollars worth of Cannabis Marihuana, two (2) firearms, as well as various drug paraphernalia.

Forty-four (44) year-old Luke KOOSTACHIN of Attawapiskat First Nation has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Careless Storage of a Firearm, and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

Thirty-two (32) year-old Jennifer TOMAGATICK of Attawapiskat First Nation has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Careless Storage of a Firearm, and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

KOOSTACHIN and TOMAGATICK have both been released from custody on conditions and will next appear before the court on November 28, 2012, in Attawapiskat, Ontario.

Attawapiskat First Nation is located approximately 630 kilometres north of Timmins, Ontario.
