Executed a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Print

The Combined Forces Organized Crime Unit consists of members from The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service, The Thunder Bay Police Service, The O.P.P.- Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, The R.C.M.P., and The Anishinabek Police Service.

(Constance Lake, ON)  On January 26, 2012, The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Organized Crime Unit along with NAPS Uniform members from the Constance Lake Detachment with assistance from the OPP North East Drug Unit and OPP Uniform members executed a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

 

A search of the residence located at 3 Amik Street in Constance Lake First Nation yielded what police believe to be approximately eight (8) grams of Cocaine, with an estimated street value of approximately eight hundred ($800.00) dollars, seven hundred twenty ($720.00) dollars in Canadian currency, a shotgun, rifle and various amounts of live ammunition.

 

Twenty-four (24) year-old Matasha Abigail Valarie HOOPER has been charged with one count each of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Careless Storage of a Firearm, and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.  Another person will be facing charges in relation to this investigation.

 

HOOPER has been released on conditions and will appear in court on April 11, 2012, in Hearst, Ontario.
