WUNNUMIN LAKE NAPS OFFICER’S HOCKEY PROGRAM RECEIVES GENEROUS DONATIONS Print

(Wunnumin Lake, ON)  A Nishnawbe-Aski Police Officer is thankful for a generous donation of hockey equipment and use of facilities received from Play It Again Sports and the Wunnumin Lake First Nation.

Cst. Waylon Linklater is the coach and coordinator for a youth hockey program in Wunnumin Lake First Nation.  This is the second season for Cst. Linklater's hockey program that involves youth between the ages of 6 to 17 years and consisting of at least 25 boys and girls.

Play It Again Sports was informed that some of the youth who wanted to play hockey didn't have any equipment and Mr. Fonso, the owner and operator of the store, answered with enough equipment to outfit 12 to 15 players. Additionally, the Wunnumin Lake First Nation Band Council donated free ice time at the local arena.  The equipment will be distributed this week.

Wunnumin Lake First Nation is located approximately 500 km north of Thunder Bay.
