CHARGES LAID AGAINST TWO PEOPLE Print

(Cochrane, ON) On June 21, 2011, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit, Guns & Gang Unit, Kashechewan Detachment members and members of the Ontario Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit completed an investigation that has resulted with charges laid against two people.

The investigation that led police between Kashechewan First Nation, Timmins, and Cochrane resulted in police seizing approximately 720 grams of Marihuana, one thousand three-hundred sixty ($1,360.00) dollars in Canadian currency, two cellular telephones, 15 various sized bottles of various types of liquor, and several debt lists.  The total street value of the seizure is approximately thirty-one thousand three hundred sixty ($31,360.00) dollars.

Thirty-three (33) year-old Jennifer WESLEY of Kashechewan is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking section 5(2) under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Twenty-six (26) year-old Christopher WESLEY of Kashechewan is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking section 5(2) under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  Both have been released on conditions and will appear in court in Cochrane on August 22, 2011.

The Combined Forces Organized Crime Unit consists of members from The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service, The Thunder Bay Police Service, The O.P.P.- Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, The R.C.M.P., and The Anishinabek Police Service.
