MAN CHARGED IN SANDY LAKE FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING Print

(Sandy Lake, ON) On March 28, 2011, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit members executed a search warrant issued under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence in the Sandy Lake First Nation.

Police seized approximately twenty-nine (29) OxyCodone 80 mg prescription pills totaling a northern street value of eight thousand two hundred dollars ($8,200.00) and also seized was approximately one thousand six hundred dollars ($1,600.00) in Canadian currency.

Forty-four (44) year-old Robert LINKLATER of Sandy Lake First Nation has been charged with Possession for Purpose of Trafficking, section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. 

LINKLATER has been released on a Promise to Appear with Conditions.  LINKLATER will next appear in court in Sandy Lake on June 14, 2011.

Sandy Lake First Nation is approximately 600 km northwest of Thunder Bay.
