OXYCONTIN SEIZURE IN SANDY LAKE Print

(Sandy Lake) On September 28, 2010, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service members in Sandy Lake have charged a woman for attempting to bring prescription pills to the remote, northern community.

Police seized approximately twelve thousand four-hundred dollars ($12,400.00) worth of OxyContin prescription pills.

Twenty (20) year old Heather HARPER of Sandy Lake First Nation is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. HARPER has been released on conditions and a Promise to Appear in court on December 8, 2010 in Sandy Lake, Ontario.

Sandy Lake First Nation is located approximately 600 km northwest of Thunder Bay.
