(Thunder Bay)  On October 15, 2009, John Domm announced his resignation as Chief of Police with the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS).  John has accepted an offer to become the Chief of Police with Rama Police Service.

John Domm was hired in 2006 and has served as both Deputy Chief and Chief.   Prior to joining NAPS, John served with the Halton Regional Police for 17 years.  John’s last day with NAPS is Friday, October 23, 2009.

The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Services Board will begin the recruitment of a new Chief of Police.  Deputy Chief Robin Jones will be the Acting Chief of Police until the new Chief is hired.

Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service is the largest First Nations Police Service in Canada, and the second largest in North America, covering a geographic area that encompasses almost two-thirds of the Province of Ontario.  NAPS has a compliment of 175 uniform and civilian members, including 35 detachments, 2 regional offices, and 1 headquarters.
