ATTAWAPISKAT PEACEKEEPERS ASSIST IN $23,000 DRUG SEIZURE PDF Print E-mail

(Attawapiskat, ON) On September 13, 2018, a drug seizure made by civilian volunteers was investigated by the Attawapiskat Detachment of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS).

Peacekeepers at the Attawapiskat Airport located Methamphetamine and Marihuana while conducting an airport search. All drugs were handed over to the Attawapiskat Detachment officers who were then assisted by the NAPS Drug Enforcement Unit.

The seized drugs had a combined northern street value of twenty-three thousand ($23,000.00) dollars.

As a result, a fifty-four (54) year-old female has been charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Attawapiskat First Nation is located approximately 630 kilometres north of Timmins, Ontario.
