(Thunder Bay, ON)  Members of the media are invited to join Chief of Police Terry Armstrong of the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and partner agencies; Alpha Court, John Howard Society, and Cory Edwards of Flow Media on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at 12 o’clock p.m. at the NAPS Headquarters located at 309 Court Street South for the unveiling of Project Nexus’ educational component:  ‘Was It Worth It?’ Anti-Alcohol & Violence Campaign.

In early 2016, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service received a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services in the amount of $100,000.00 in the name of Project Nexus.  The project is comprised of two components:  operational and educational.

In March of 2016, the operational component of Project Nexus was released in Dryden, Ontario with the partnerships of Canada Post and the Dryden Police Service by the significant seizure of 117.3 grams of Marihuana, 18 litres of Alcohol, and 96 Gabapentin pills.

Project Nexus’ educational unveiling will launch a website, educational videos, and a smartphone/iPhone app.

The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service serves 34 of the 49 the First Nation Communities in the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation.
