(Wunnumin Lake, ON) The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service North West Region Crime Unit is seeking assistance for the community of Wunnumin Lake First Nation in identifying the person or persons responsible for a rash of break and enters in the community.

On May 26, 2016, in the early morning hours, a male entered the nursing station residence through a window. The male was scared off by a lone female occupant. The male is described as being aboriginal, in his early 20’s, dressed all in black.

On May 31,2016, in the early morning hours, a male entered a teacher’s residence. The male was scared off by a lone female occupant. The male is described as being aboriginal, dressed all in black.

Nishnawbe-Aski Police would like to issue a public safety warning to all community members to lock their doors, windows, leave lights on and never hesitate to notify police of any suspicious person(s) around their residence.

Wunnumin Lake First Nation is approximately 500 km north of Thunder Bay.
