*UPDATE* NISHNAWBE-ASKI POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT IN ATTAWAPISKAT PDF Print E-mail

(Attawapiskat, ON) On November 19, 2014, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS) Attawapiskat Detachment members were able to get the male suspect into custody without further incident.

Earlier at approximately 8:30 a.m., police received a complaint about a shot fired within the First Nation community of Attawapiskat.

This incident continues to be in its early stages of investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available. There is no longer a concern for public safety at this time.

Attawapiskat First Nation is located approximately 630 kilometres north of Timmins, Ontario.
