NAPS SANDY LAKE CHARGE FOUR IN ROBBERY INCIDENT PDF Print E-mail

(Sandy Lake, ON)  On June 8, 2014, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Sandy Lake Detachment began an investigation into a reported Break and Enter of a residence. 

Investigation revealed that four people had forced their way into a residence where they committed several acts against the law including forcible confinement, robbery, and assault.  

Twenty-six (26) year-old Joseph Angus MAMAGEESIC of Sandy Lake First Nation has been charged with three counts of Assault with a Weapon,  three counts of Forcible Confinement, three counts of Robbery, Break & Enter, and Mischief Under $5,000.00.

Twenty-six (26) year-old Andy Sterling LINKLATER of Sandy Lake First Nation has been charged with three counts of Assault with a Weapon,  three counts of Forcible Confinement, three counts of Robbery, Break & Enter, Mischief Under $5,000.00, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

Twenty-seven (27) year-old Leslie KAKEGAMIC of Sandy Lake First Nation has been charged with three counts of Assault with a Weapon,  three counts of Forcible Confinement, three counts of Robbery, Break & Enter, and Mischief Under $5,000.00.Twenty (20) year-old Cory KAKEKAPETUM of Sandy Lake First Nation has been charged with three counts of Assault with a Weapon,  three counts of Forcible Confinement, three counts of Robbery, Break & Enter, and Mischief Under $5,000.00. 

MAMAGEESIC, LINKLATER, KAKEGAMIC, and KAKEKAPETUM were remanded into custody on June 9, 2014, in Kenora, Ontario.  MAMAGEESIC, LINKLATER, and KAKEGAMIC remain in custody until a pending court date.  KAKEKAPETUM was released on conditions which includes residing in Kenora, Ontario. 

Sandy Lake First Nation is approximately 600 km northwest of Thunder Bay.
