TWO CHARGED IN ATTAWAPISKAT DRUG INVESTIGATION BY NAPS PDF Print E-mail

(Attawapiskat, ON)  On April 17, 2014, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Drug Enforcement, Criminal Intelligence, Guns & Gangs, Canine Unit, and Attawapiskat Detachment members had worked together during a drug investigation that had resulted in a warrant execution and two charged persons. 

As a result, police seized Marihuana and Oxycodone with an approximate street value of one-thousand ($1,000.00) dollars and approximately seven-thousand five-hundred ($7,500.00) dollars in Canadian Currency.  Approximately seven-thousand six-hundred ($7,600.00) dollars’ worth of alcohol was also seized. 

Twenty-five (25) year-old Abigail TOMAGATICK of Attawapiskat and thirty-three (33) year-old Valarie NAKOCHEE (WESLEY) formerly of Fort Albany were each charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of the Proceeds of Crime.  TOMAGATICK and NAKOCHEE (WESLEY) have both been released on conditions and will appear in court in Attawapiskat, Ontario on August 27, 2014. 

Attawapiskat First Nation is located approximately 630 kilometres north of Timmins, Ontario.
