FOUR CHARGED IN MOOSE FACTORY AFTER NAPS WARRANT EXECUTED PDF Print E-mail

(Moose Factory, ON) On June 19, 2012, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service North East Drug Unit assisted by the Uniformed and Auxiliary Officers from the NAPS Moose Factory Detachment and the NAPS Emergency Response Team successfully executed a warrant in the community of Moose Cree First Nation. Four persons were arrested and charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The amount of illegal drugs seized by police, namely, Cocaine, OxyContin and Marijuana totaled approximately forty-three thousand four-hundred ($43,400.00) dollars, also seized was five-thousand nine-hundred eighty-five ($5,985.00) dollars in currency.

Thirty-six (36) year-old Johnathan Thomas HOOKIMAW and thirty-six (36) year-old Harmony WYNNE, both of Moose Cree First Nation, have each been charged with three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Twenty-three (23) year-old Elizabeth PLUMTREE of Toronto, Ontario has been charged with three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Twenty-three (23) year-old Samantha GRIFFIN of Toronto, Ontario has been charged with three counts Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

HOOKIMAW and WYN have been released on conditions and will next appear in court in Moosonee on August 7, 2012. PLUMTREE and GRIFFIN have also been released on conditions, one being not to attend in the First Nation community of Moose Factory and will next appear in court in Moosonee on August 7, 2012.

Moose Cree First Nation (Moose Factory) is located 300 kilometres north of Cochrane, Ontario.
