NISHNAWBE-ASKI POLICE SEIZE MARIHUANA IN KASHECHEWAN PDF Print E-mail

(Kashechewan, ON)  On March 21, 2012, Nishnawbe-Aski Police members of the Kashechewan Detachment and Drug Enforcement Unit completed an investigation under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act which resulted in a Kashechewan woman being charged.

Police seized a package that was sent from Timmins, Ontario to Kashechewan First Nation that contained Marihuana that is worth a street value of four thousand four-hundred ($4,400.00) dollars.

Twenty (20) year-old Shelly Naomi HUGHIE has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.  HUGHIE will be released today on conditions with a court appearance scheduled for June 27, 2012, in Kashechewan, Ontario.

Kashechewan First Nation is located approximately 500 km northwest of Timmins, Ontario.
