The Combined Forces Organized Crime Unit consists of members from The Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service, The Thunder Bay Police Service, The O.P.P.- Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, The R.C.M.P., and The Anishinabek Police Service.

(Deer Lake, ON)  On March 17, 2012, Nishnawbe-Aski Police members of the Deer Lake Detachment, Drug Enforcement Unit and the Combined Forces Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence located on Deer Lake First Nation.

Police seized thirteen thousand two-hundred ($13,200.00) dollars worth of Oxycodone 80 milligram prescription pills and one thousand one-hundred ($1,100.00) dollars in Canadian currency.

Thirty-nine (39) year-old Joanne AYSANABEE along with her common-law husband, thirty-eight (38) year-old James DALY have each been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in Oxycodone.

AYSANABEE and DALY were both released on conditions and will next appear in court on April 16, 2012 in Deer Lake, Ontario.

DeerLake First Nation is located approximately 725 km northwest of Thunder Bay.
