TWO CHARGED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING BY NISHNAWBE-ASKI POLICE PDF Print E-mail

RELEASE:  March 2, 2012

(Calstock, ON)  On Friday, March 2, 2012, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Constance Lake Detachment, Drug Enforcement, Guns and Gangs Unit along with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at a residence located on the Constance Lake First Nation resulting with a man and woman facing drug trafficking charges.

As a result police seized 44 Methamphetamine pills, seven grams of Marihuana, seven grams of Hashish, six Dilaudid pills, one thousand three-hundred forty ($1,340.00) in Canadian currency, two firearms, and various surveillance equipment.

Thirty-three (33) year-old Robert Ames NEOTAPIN of Constance Lake First Nation has been charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited.

Twenty-nine (29) year-old Isabelle MENDOWEGAN of Constance Lake First Nation has been charged with three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Careless Storage of a Firearm, and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

Both NEOTAPIN and MENDOWEGAN will be released on conditions for appearance in court in Hearst, Ontario on May 2, 2012.

Constance Lake First Nation is located approximately 290 km west of Timmins, Ontario.
