NISHNAWBE-ASKI POLICE CONTINUE DRUG SEIZURES IN MOOSE FACTORY PDF Print E-mail

(Moose Cree, ON)  On February 2, 2012, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Moose Factory Detachment and North East Region Crime Unit members executed a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act resulting in three men charged.

The warrant execution resulted in the seizure of approximately ninety (90) grams of Marijuana, one thousand five hundred twenty-five ($1,525.00) dollars in Canadian currency, fifteen (15) firearms, one prohibited firearm magazine, and various drug paraphernalia.

Forty (40) year-old Marcel James Raymond ECHUM has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Careless Storage of a Firearm, and Possession of a Prohibited Device.

Twenty-four (24) year-old Rodney K. ECHUM has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Twenty-six (26) year-old Calvin Cain ECHUM has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.

All three charged individuals have been released on conditions and will appear in court on March 6, 2012, in Moosonee, Ontario.

Moose Cree First Nation is located approximately 300 kilometres north of Cochrane, Ontario.
