NISHNAWBE-ASKI POLICE RECEIVE MORE SEIZED ALCOHOL IN KASHECHEWAN PDF Print E-mail

(Kashechewan, ON) Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service received a confidential tip about suspicious packages on a plane destined for the Kashechewan First Nation.

Police notified the Kashechewan Band Council which resulted in a significant amount of alcohol being seized with a street value of fourteen thousand nine-hundred dollars ($14,900.00).  The alcohol seized varied between 750 ml bottles and 1.75 litre bottles of various types of alcohol.  The seized liquor was handed over to police.

The matter is still under investigation with no charges laid at this time.

Kashechewan First Nation is located along the West shore of James Bay, approximately 120 kilometres northwest of Moosonee, Ontario.
