NISHNAWBE-ASKI POLICE DRUG SEIZE 1600 MARIHUANA PLANTS PDF Print E-mail

(Brunswick House) On September 17, 2011, an ongoing investigation led by the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit members ended in a seizure of several hundred marihuana plants.

NAPS Drug Enforcement members, assisted by members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, NAPS Chapleau Detachment members, NAPS Canine and Chapleau OPP Detachment members seized 1600 marihuana plants and other offence-related property near Brunswick House First Nation.  The estimated street value of the seizure is approximately 1.6 million dollars.

This investigation is currently ongoing with several identified suspects and no arrests or charges  have been made at the time of this release.

Brunswick House First Nation is located approximately 200 kilometres southwest of Timmins, Ontario.
