NISHNAWBE-ASKI POLICE OFFICER FACING CHARGES PDF Print E-mail

(Muskrat Dam, ON)  An officer with the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service is facing a number of charges alleged to have occurred in the evening hours of May 1, 2011.

The charges have been laid from a thorough investigation into a report received that an adult male resident of Muskrat Dam First Nation was assaulted and threatened during an incident at the detachment.

Forty-nine (49) year-old James REMUS has been charged with two counts of Assault with a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Uttering Threats, and Unlawful Confinement.  REMUS has been released on conditions with a court date of September 13, 2011 in Muskrat Dam First Nation.

Muskrat Dam First Nation is approximately 700 km north of Thunder Bay.
