NAPS GUNS & GANGS CHARGE MAN IN KASABONIKA LAKE PDF Print E-mail

(Kasabonika Lake, ON)  On April 29, 2011, the Northwest Regional Guns and Gangs Unit executed a search warrant in the First Nation Territory of Kasabonika Lake and a male is now facing charges under the Criminal Code. 

Police seized a total of ten firearms and four prohibited devices, among them, eight semi-automatic rifles, two shotguns, and four high-capacity rifle magazines.

Forty-five (45) year-old John WINTER has been charged with Weapons Trafficking, Weapon: Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession, and Careless Storage.

WINTER has been released on a Promise to Appear for court on June 16, 2011 in Kasabonika Lake, Ontario.

The Northwest Regional Guns and Gangs Unit consists of members from the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Kasabonika Lake First Nation is approximately 580 kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay.
