FATAL HOUSE FIRE UNDER INVESTIGATION IN NIBINAMIK FIRST NATION PDF Print E-mail

(Summer Beaver, ON) On January 13, 2011, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service received a report of a residential fire in the First Nation community of Nibinamik.

Two children are reported deceased and one is currently being treated for injuries.  All three children are under the age of five.  The condition of all other occupants of the residence is unknown at this time.

The fire is currently under investigation by Nishnawbe-Aski Police with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police and the Ontario Fire Marshall.  Further information will be released once it becomes available.

Nibinamik First Nation is approximately 500 km northwest of Thunder Bay.
