DEER LAKE WOMAN CHARGED IN $17,200.00 PRESCRIPTION DRUG SEIZURE PDF Print E-mail

(Deer Lake) On September 14, 2010, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service members in Deer Lake received information about drugs entering the community.

With the assistance of Band Airport Security, police seized a street value of approximately seventeen thousand two-hundred dollars ($17,200.00) worth of OxyContin and Percocet prescription pills.

Twenty-seven (27) year-old Rolene MEEKIS of Deer Lake First Nation is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.  MEEKIS has been released on conditions and will appear in court on November 30, 2010 in Deer Lake, Ontario.

Deer Lake First Nation is located approximately 725 km northwest of Thunder Bay.
