THUNDER BAY COMMUNITY CUP SPORTS EVENT PDF Print E-mail
(Thunder Bay, ON) On Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8, 2010, the Community Cup Sports - 2nd Annual Youth Hockey Tournament was held at the Fort William First Nation arena. This even was coordinated by the Thunder Bay Police Service Aboriginal Liaison Committee with volunteers from other local police services, bringing aboriginal youth and regional police together in the spirit of fun, sport and community.

Approximately 60 youth and police officers made up eight teams, with the winner being presented the Community Cup. Police officers represented Nishnawbe-Aski Police, Anishinabek Police, Thunder Bay Police, Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Congratulations to Team Frog who won the ‘A' Championship, and to all subsequent division champions and participants:

Team Wolf
Team Crane

This is the third in the line of fun sporting events that NAPS has supported and participated in. In April 2009 NAPS assisted with the 1st Annual Youth Hockey Tournament and the first Volleyball tournament was held May 9, 2009
