SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED IN FIRST NATION PDF Print E-mail
Eabametoong, ON (Fort Hope) - On April 9, 2010 members of the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS), NAPS K-9 Unit, and Combined Forces Organized Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a residence located in Eabametoong First Nation.

Two females have been charged in relation to the warrant. Thirty-two (32) year old Vivian WABOOSE of Eabametoong First Nation has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. Also, thirty-six (36) year old Ginoogaming First Nation member Sharon MENDOWAGON has been charged with Trafficking a controlled Substance x5, and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

NAPS seized a street value of approximately three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) worth of prescription oxycontin drugs, along with two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) in cash.

Both of the charged parties have been released on a Promise to Appear in court in Fort Hope on June 17, 2010.

Eabametoong is located approximately 385 kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay, Ont
