PRESCRIPTION DRUG CHARGES AT AIRPORT PDF Print E-mail

(Thunder Bay) On October 26, 2009 a drug investigation led Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit to the Thunder Bay Airport which resulted in one woman being charged and an illegal substance halted for delivery to the remote northern community of Kasabonika Lake First Nation.

Police seized a street value of approximately eleven thousand dollars ($11,000.00) worth of OxyContin prescription drugs.

Twenty-six (26) year old Connie MCKAY of Kasabonika Lake First Nation was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.  MCKAY was released on a Promise to Appear for court in Thunder Bay on November 26, 2009. 

Kasabonika Lake is located approximately 580 kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay.
