On May 31, 2009 Nishnawbe -Aski Police Service and the OPP executed a search warrant within the community of Aroland First Nation resulting in the seizure of drugs and currency totalling approximately ten-thousand six hundred and fourteen dollars ($10,614.00).

Police seized seven- thousand- nine hundred and fifty-four dollars ($7,954.00) in currency and prescription drugs consisting of Oxycotin and Percocet pills. The value of the drugs seized was estimated at having a street value of two- thousand -six hundred and sixty dollars ($2660.0).

A restricted firearm was also seized in the process.

Twenty-seven (27) year-old Brandon Soloduik of Toronto, Ontario and twenty-one year old (21)Leanne Gagnon were arrested and charged with the following offences.

1)     Possession for the purpose of trafficking under the CSDA

2)     Possession of Property obtained by Crime under the CCC

3)     Possession of Prohibited Weapon under the CCC

4)     Possession of a Prohibited Weapon while being authorized not to do so under the CCC

5)     Careless storage of Firearm under the CCC

Mr. Soloduik is also charged for breaching his probation.

Leanne Gagnon was released on a Promise to Appear and she will appear in court in Geraldton Ontario on July 23, 2009.

Bail hearing for Mr. Soloduik is scheduled for June 1st, in Geraldton, Ontario.
