Eight constables join the ranks of the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service today April 24th,  in a ceremony at the Fort William Historical Park at 1:30 PM.

NAPS Deputy Chief Robin Jones will open the gathering with remarks of encouragement.  Nishnawbe-Aski Nation Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler will also be present to meet the newest recruits and their families.

Constable Kyle Nye will deliver the valedictorian address. He also won the award for "Outstanding Achievement" for the Basic Constable Training course.

Bio of Scott Sabourin

Scott was born in Ottawa, ON. His home community is Fergus, ON.   His hobbies and interests include hunting, fishing, ski-doing, and spending time at the cottage.

He was previously employed as an officer in the City of Yellowknife.

Scott has two children ages 15 months and 14 years.

Cst. Sabourin is very much looking forward to serving the people of NAN.

Bio of Richard Hahnle

Richard was born in Brandford, ON. He graduated from the Balmoral Learning Centre and his previous employer was Canadian Tire.

Today his partner Panda Jerry is in attendance.  Richard is very family orientated.

Richard loves to snowmobile.

Bio of Carlie Bolduc

Carlie was born and raised in Thunder Bay, ON. Her partner Cst. Blain Joynson is an officer currently with Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and will be presenting her badge to her today.

Carlie was a Security Supervisor of the Intercity Mall prior to being hired at NAPS.

She enjoys sports and community service.

Bio of Sarah Krasevec

Sarah was born and raised in Timmins, ON. Her previous employment prior to graduating from the Ontario Police College was at Dumas Contracting.

Her partner is Dave Fenato and they are both very excited about her new position with the service.

Bio of Nikolas Michlouski

Nikolas was born in Sudbury, ON and grew up in Levack, ON. He graduated from Cambrian College and was a Heavy Equipment Operator for Day Construction. These skills he learned in that field has enabled him think very practically and he is excited about joining a team.

His future goals are to be a member of a special unit and truly is looking forward to making a difference in people's lives.

Nikolas enjoys riding his motorcycle, snowmobiling, and spending time with his partner Andrea.

Bio of Michael Himanen

Michael was born and raised in Thunder Bay, ON. He shares his passion for policing with his brother who is also in law enforcement with the OPP and will be presenting his badge today.

Michael was a student at Lakehead University. He was a former Canadian Air Transport Security Authority Supervisor for Aeroguard Eastern at Thunder Bay Airport. Previous to that he was in the Canadian Forces.

He is committed to his career and enjoys playing hockey, basketball, mountain biking and ice/rock climbing.

Bio of Kyle Ney

Kyle was born in Parry Sound, and grew up in Thunder Bay, ON. He graduated from Georgian College and his previous employment was at Casino Rama.

His mother will be presenting his badge to him today. Kyle is also the Valedictorian for this graduating class.

He enjoys baseball, hockey and playing the guitar.

Bio of Marc Beauparlant

Marc was born in Sturgeon Falls and his home community is Hearst, ON.  He proudly graduated from Sault College - Forestry. He worked as a Forestry Technician for Columbia Forest Products and with both government and the private sector. Marc was also an OPP Auxiliary Unit Commander for the Kapuskasing and Hearst Detachments.

His partner Tracy Christianson will be presenting his badge to him today. Marc has three children ages 15, 16, and 20.

Marc is looking forward to meeting the people in his new posting and being a part of the community.
